Fried slice

I used to start the morning at Lakes Traditional English Cafe. A builders breakfast with fried bread, black pudding and a mug of sweet tea.

But they sold years ago.

Stuck for choice, I headed to the other end of town, settling down with my newspaper at Charlie Harpers.

Where I splashed out on the Black Pudding Hash. Just to be different.  Something I will do again. They also offer Rooibos and the fried bread comes standard.

The old Lakes Breakfast Cafe became The Pass Street Food Cafe and now Fujiwara Japanese Kitchen. Whereas the menu at Charlie Harpers has not been changed. It still comes with fried bread but after consulting FaceBook, am discovering that a few other places also offer the ubiquitous slice.
