Breakfast – where to go

I used to do breakfast at Lakes Traditional English Cafe. A builders breakfast with fried bread, black pudding and a mug of sweet tea.

But they sold years ago.

Stuck for choice, I eventually ended up in the other end of town, at Charlie Harpers.

Where I splashed out on the Black Pudding Hash just to be different.  Something I will do again, it was that good. They also offer Rooibos and their fried bread comes standard.

The old Lakes Breakfast Cafe became The Pass Street Food Cafe and is now Fujiwara Japanese Kitchen. Whereas the menu at Charlie Harpers has not changed. Still comes with fried bread and after consulting FaceBook, am discovering that a few other places also offer the ubiquitous slice.
